Iceland: Day 10 (Snæfellsnes Peninsula)

Hey there peeps,

It's the third last day of our Icelandic adventure. We were so glad to finally step foot on Walter Mitty's little town yesterday. I purposely allocate some time and detoured to that shooting location. If you are interested to know itinerary and budget for this trip click HERE.

Iceland: Day 6 (Skaftafell)

A very lovely and windy morning today!

Just for recap yesterday was a disaster! We were stuck for almost 6 hours in the middle of a tiny town unable to turn to anywhere coz all roads were blocked even the one towards Reykjavik. The wind was quite strong but luckily we were able to drive today. Blue skies can be seen clearly as the horrible clouds blown away. You can find itinerary and budget for this trip HERE.

"Hiked" an hour for this but the breathtaking waterfall was worth it.

Iceland: Day 5 (Journey to Vik)

Good morning!

Today we will head on down to Vik. Yesterday we had so much fun around the Golden Circle. This morning we got up around 7am with happy vibes and excited to start our waterfall journey cos we thought we will visit lotsa waterfalls today but turned out didn't go according to SCHEDULE. We'll talk about it later.

Cold and wet and moody at Seljalandsfoss.

Iceland: Day 2 (A day in London)

Hello again wanderlusters!

Let's recap... yesterday was a short but fun walking tour in Singapore. Technically today and the day before isn't exactly Iceland but rather long transits that we willingly opted to squeeze in some extra cities. So literally today is a London trip. What can you do in London for just a day? What we did was crazy and highly not recommended. You should at least spend 3 full days in this beautiful city and visit other nearby towns as well. But if you are in a tight budget like us and only wanna spend below RM1000 (2 person + hotel + transport + food) and touch-n-go as many landmarks as possible then read below how we did it. You may refer to full itinerary and budget HERE.

London is one of the cities I wanted to visit when I was a child and here I am!

Iceland: Day 1 (A day in Singapore)

Hey travelbugs!

Much apologies for not updating my blog due to personal issue happening in my family. I will try my best to recall our most epic trip by far like it was yesterday. At the end of February this year we went for a Northern Lights trip to Iceland. If you are interested to know itinerary and budget for this trip click HERE. Since we had to transit a few cities why not spend some time exploring? Hence we purposely opted for a 9 hour transit in Singapore . It's a shame I've known hubby for 13 years but this is the first time we visit our neighbor country together. Singapore trip has always been with my parents since I was 8 coz I've got relatives there.

Beautiful night scene at the quay.

Iceland: Itinerary and Budget (Only RM9000 per person)

Hey globetrotters!

Remember back in 2015 I wrote a post about my Aurora Dream? Though financial is tough, I don't give a shit and went ahead in realizing my dream. With tight budget, awful exchange rate and coming from a 3rd world country, visiting one of the most expensive country in the world is still possible! So believe in yourself and you can do it! Also hope you don't mind that my itinerary is jam packed coz greedy me wanna squeeze in as much places as possible but you have the choice not to follow it.

We look terrible here coz we were shivering. With lots of luck and analysis we saw the lights 5 out of 9 nights. The key is to get out of town away from light pollution. Check out and follow my Facebook profile for more photos.

If KP is strong enough you can even view it in the city just like we did while we were out for dinner.

The Aurora Dream

I do not want to keep this to myself anymore. It has been like a couple of years since I made my mind to save up to chase the Northern Lights but failed to do so due to spontaneous trips that kept coming in. Until 2 years ago Walter Mitty came along to remind me. Not forgetting Tomb Raider, James Bond, Prometheus, Oblivion, Interstellar, Thor, Star Trek, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and many more.

So no excuse now...I will put a halt on all travels for 2 years to concentrate on my "project". There are a number of countries you can view the dancing lights; Alaska (USA), Canada, Finland, Norway, Iceland and even New Zealand. Initially I chose Tromsø , Norway but for no apparent reason Iceland caught my eye. Many travelers advise that you can't only emphasize on the lights or else your dreams will be shattered coz these beauties are very unpredictable. So you should focus more on exploring the nature that surrounds Iceland like geysers, countless waterfalls, volcanoes, mountains and more. I need free flow of tips and suggestions in the comment section below coz people rarely go to Iceland.
