Bruno, more than a pet, a brother

Sad announcement to make. There has been 3 deaths in a row between March and April. First my cat then my godpa and now my little dog brother. Be warned this is gonna be a photo heavy post but in the end it's for my dog, 15 wonderful years in a page.

My Shih Tzu dog, Bruno Boey of 15 years has returned to rainbow land on a sunny morning at 9:50am April 13th 2015, Monday. I still remember cuddling him on the first night when he arrived. I was only starting my high school at that time. I had no idea how to take care of a pet too. We didn't pick him from a litter. A middleman couple took from a breeder and brought Bruno to us after months of begging to my parents therefore Bruno was Godsend.

The Aurora Dream

I do not want to keep this to myself anymore. It has been like a couple of years since I made my mind to save up to chase the Northern Lights but failed to do so due to spontaneous trips that kept coming in. Until 2 years ago Walter Mitty came along to remind me. Not forgetting Tomb Raider, James Bond, Prometheus, Oblivion, Interstellar, Thor, Star Trek, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and many more.


So no excuse now...I will put a halt on all travels for 2 years to concentrate on my "project". There are a number of countries you can view the dancing lights; Alaska (USA), Canada, Finland, Norway, Iceland and even New Zealand. Initially I chose Tromsø , Norway but for no apparent reason Iceland caught my eye. Many travelers advise that you can't only emphasize on the lights or else your dreams will be shattered coz these beauties are very unpredictable. So you should focus more on exploring the nature that surrounds Iceland like geysers, countless waterfalls, volcanoes, mountains and more. I need free flow of tips and suggestions in the comment section below coz people rarely go to Iceland.

Review: Macau Tower 360° Café buffet dinner

Today I will be reviewing Macau Tower 360° Café's buffet dinner. 360° Café is located at level 60. Opens daily serving lunch buffet (11:30am - 1pm and 1:30m - 3pm) , tea set (3:30pm - 5pm) and dinner buffet (6:30pm - 10pm). Lunch priced at MOP258, tea set at MOP178 and dinner at MOP363. The meal prices include entrance to observation lounge. International buffet is served with mainly Chinese, Fusion and Portuguese dishes.

Review: SK-II Magic Ring Test

Though not fully recovered from my cat's demise, I still fill my time with blogging. It's the only way to forget or I'll be drowning in my own tears.Anyway, a month ago I received email invitation from SK-II Crystal Club and decided to make a booking. I did this test before I think way back in 2009 but have no idea what it was.

And so I went to the counter two weeks ago and it was an informative experience. I didn't take my skin seriously when I first did this test in 2009.

Recipe: Baked Scallops Wrapped in Bacon

Type: Appetizer
Servings: 1
Category: Non-halal, Non-vegan

Ingredients
6 large scallops
6 bacon strips
6 cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Pepper to taste
A dash of mixed herbs
6 toothpicks

Preparation
1. Soak toothpicks in water to prevent from burnt.
2. Prepare marinade by mixing ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, pepper and sugar.
3. Preheat oven to 170ºC and grease baking tray with butter.
4. Brush the scallops with marinade on both sides.
5. Wrap each scallop with bacon and secure it through center with toothpick followed by a cherry tomato.
6. Place scallops onto tray and bake for 7 minutes while turning them occasionally.
7. Garnish with some leftover marinade and mixed herbs.

Angel, my one and only cat

I had no chance to properly blog about my pets. To sum it all, I have a total of 4 pets; 2 cats and 2 dogs. First is Bruno my Shih Tzu born 8th January 2000. Yes, he is old but very strong and fat lol. He outlived my grandma, his vet, his neighbour a fellow Shih Tzu, his two cousin dogs, several old friends and currently his "nephew". Second is Angel my Persian cat (born 1 March 2012) whom we discovered he had chronic renal failure (CRF) on 2/3/15 and left us on 4/3/15 12.20am. Third is Jaguar a stray black kitten (born November 2013) whom my parents found in a drain near their home. I'm not really close to that cat. Fourth is the only daily companion I have left, Benji the Shih Tzu Pinscher mix born 22 August 2014.

Dear readers,

As you all know I just visited Macau recently so where do I board my pets? Let me share with you my testimony. My mum and dad takes care of my Persian cat, Angel whenever my husband ad I go on vacation because he is very passive and does not require much attention. On the other hand I have a very active uncontrollable Shih Tzu - Pinscher mix which I adopted through a friend. My mum suggested I should contact Auntie Rosie, a long time family friend who has groomed and provided boarding service to Bruno, my other dog who stays with my parents.

I used to do a bit of part-time modeling and pageant a couple of years back. I will share my photos in future posts. Mostly do it for free for friends who are interested to brush up their portrait photography skill. I also declined a few product ambassador positions due to studies and work. Now that I am a housewife and ahem...still has the body, I would love to do modeling jobs again.

Dear readers,

Sorry for the late update as I have been very busy for the past month. I will be busy again approaching Chinese New Year cleaning and repairing the house and the biggest challenge is to cook 6-7 dishes for my in-laws during CNY eve. Ok, challenge accepted!

During New Year's eve countdown, hubby and I went to Automall at Karpal Singh drive. He was there for a photography competition while I accidentally shopping. I didn't expect a long bazaar of food stalls and online fashion stores parading in front of me. I will review about the clothes and jewelery I bought after I wear them for CNY.

I can't wait to share with you my lousy 15 minute edited-using-cellphone video. I really need a good camcorder. This video has been blocked by YouTube many times due to song copyright and I edited it like more than 3 times already. Some more the crappy app is so not user-friendly and has reduced the quality. 15 minutes seems lengthy but I tried my best to squeeze 2 weeks into one video clip. The rest will be deleted sadly due to lack of memory.

Woohoo!

Kimberly-Clark sent me another Kotex sample to and it's been stored in my closet for a few months already. Time to write my pending reviews. Few months ago I received Kotex Luxe and wrote a review about it and this time its Kotex Fresh Liner. The difference between pads and pantyliner is pad is used during our period while the latter is used after our period or anytime when there's discharge.

I ain't a female travel blogger if I don't post what's in my makeup pouch right? So what I usually bring to travel are BB Cream, blusher, eyeliner, browliner, eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. If you are going to somewhere humid you need a loose powder to set your makeup and blotting paper to soak up oil. For dry cold weather I suggest you bring a good moisturizer like my Biore face milk. I love using drugstore makeup coz they are not only cheap but also works really well and your heart won't ache so much when they get lost.

Halloween 2014 at Soju Room

Hey peeps!

Happy belated Halloween! Last week hubby and I were invited to watch his colleagues' Zumba performance at Soju Room. In Malaysia, we never really celebrate Halloween like going around trick or treating and stuff. Usually we would just hangout at clubs.

I wasn't bothered to put on bloody makeup and proper costume coz hubby informed me this event like 5 hours beforehand. Anyway with those bunny ears walking along the streets, the public already gave me the nasty look.
