The Banjaran Hotspring Retreat Staycation

Hello fellow explorers!

As you all know by now there's a Covid-19 pandemic happening worldwide. We were under lockdown for about 3 months plus. I have gotten so tired of cooking daily. At times I feel depressed and questioned our existence. Don't we all? Finally grace upon God's blessing Malaysia have overcome the pandemic. Not to say 100% but we are in a safe zone for now. You can't imagine how happy we were when our borders reopened and we could dine and shop like before. You still gotto mask on, register before entering any business premise and sanitize frequently. That's our new norm.

The Banjaran Hotspring Retreat is one of the super exclusive resort in Malaysia. Phenomenal experience here! Bear in mind this is an all adult resort. Children below 12 not allowed, not even at the restaurant. Peaceful indeed =)

Lol we are not getting married again. We were here for our belated anniversary.

Anyway, I'm so stocked to announce that my husband has won the first prize of Explore Malaysia with Xiaomi contest. It's just on time for our 7th wedding anniversary. I was so excited because Banjaran Hotspring, Ipoh is a lavish resort. The last time I checked it was RM1500+ per night even for the cheapest room.

So here's a little introduction to our room. We got a lakeside villa which is around 81 square meter. Each villa comes with a hot tub, a private plunge pool and balcony. For larger pool and villa that could accommodate more friends and family you could opt for garden villa or water villa.

Since we don't have to pay for the room, hubby decided to splurge on a  fine dining dinner at Jeff's Cellar which is worth our entire month of regular meals.

That green wristband was our room key.
Easy for guests to bring along when they dip into hot spring around the resort.

Our Menu

1. Amuse bouche
Seared scallop, carrot sand, crispy duck chips, cres

Smoke escapes as soon as we open the lid. Mesmerizing presentation.

2. Starters
Foie gras, caramelized onion puree, grape juice reduction, apricot jam

3. Banfi experience
Assorted bread (brioche, foccacia, sourdough etc.) with
extra virgin olive oil, 12 years balsamic vinegar and blueberry jam.

4. Palate cleanser
Lime sorbet with popping candy

 5. Mains
Grain fed lack angus ribeye, grilled scallion, brunt onion, truffle whipped potato, beef jus

6. Dessert
Ipoh white coffee mousse

Here's a similar menu. My eyes widen when I look at the price. Ours is a simplified and so called more affordable menu though we could eat weeks of meals with such price.

Thank you to Catherine for attending us and the thoughtful surprise.

The next morning, we woke up early for some wedding anniversary photoshooting.
