Genting Star Voyager cruise: Port Klang - Medan - Singapore - Port Klang

Hey y'all!

We decided travel again with little Gabby though he's such a challenging toddler. This short vacay is so last minute as I was craving for a cruise trip. It also happens to be my unplanned babymoon. Yeah, the second baby is so unexpected.

Anyway long story short I (this time I treated the fam) paid RM3k+ for 4 days 3 nights all inclusive stay on the cruise. You can read all about Star Voyager (SuperStar Scorpio) on Google.

Our cabin was just an interior stateroom because all the other cabins were sold out and furthermore we didn't want balcony for the safety of our 18 month old toddler.

You will also be charged about SGD27 per person per night for gratuity and the amount increases depending on your cabin type. We allocated around SGD1k for spending as all purchases made on board are in SGD and a few million rupiah for shopping.

We took excursion to Lake Toba instead of Medan city tour because I feel the supervolcano crater is spectacular. As for Singapore we only visited Gardens by the Bay as our cruise docking got delayed. The docking port throughout our journey was Port Klang, Kuala Tanjung and Vivo City.

Large luggage will be brought up to your cabin from the port. A tip for you is as soon as you checked in your cabin, go to the main atrium at level 5 for enquiry and to book excursions. We had no idea which restaurant to dine or what time.

You will be asked to scan a QR code at the reception which will lead you to this important link: https://theconcierge.scstarvoyager.com/

Through this link you will be able to find all you need from important notice, inclusive restaurants, menus, payment, activities, schedules and many more. Do click on "The Daily" button for updates too.

Anyway we stayed one night at Royale Chulan Damansara and brought Gabby to an indoor petting zoo at IOI mall. The next day we headed to Port Klang at about lunchtime. The ship sails at 8pm. Always bring your passport along even though you don't feel like going for excursions. You will not be able to check in without your passport.

Group tour at Lake Toba. There were a total 4 buses for this lake Toba excursion and we have 2 police cars to escort our buses to and fro. It took 3 hours per way from Kuala Tanjung port. The scenic boat ride to Samosir island was 45 minutes per trip. Gabby and I puked on the boat and in the bus!

There are 3 inclusive restaurants to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried all and North Star which serves Chinese food (non-halal) is our favourite.

Why I love cruise trips so much? There's so much entertainment you will never be bored on board. Besides gambling you can zipline, karaoke, play games, watch live shows, dip in the pool, water slide, chill in the bar and lots more. The atrium is never empty as there's always activities, short classes, handicrafts and games for kids and adults.

We didn't expect there's a Jurassic World display in Cloud Forest at the Gardens. We missed Tulipmania by a couple of weeks but to our surprise there's Lilytopia at the Flower Dome.

We were welcomed traditionally at Kuala Tanjung, Sumatera.
